On May 30th, the Postal Regulatory Commission approved the US Postal Service’s filing for all market dominant rate changes. In its ruling, the Commission fully approved the ACMA-driven catalog promotion calling for a 10% discount on all mailpieces that qualify as catalogs, per the USPS’s definition, which was also recently written with heavy ACMA input.
“The Commission finds the proposed Catalog Insights Base/Primary Promotion is consistent with applicable law … and approves the promotion to take effect as planned.”
The approval clears the way for the USPS to implement the new rates on July 13th. The rate increases average 7.4% across all market dominant mail categories. However, the Commission did not rule on the USPS’s proposal to eliminate Bound Printed Matter.
The ACMA stands ready to help all members fill out the proper paperwork to qualify for this potentially game-changing catalog discount. If you are not currently an ACMA member, contact us by responding to this email and we’d be happy to discuss how you can get our assistance.
